5c3a0b191e Add tests checking that a number of feature gates are gating their features.
Namely:

 * `quote`
 * `link_args`
 * `link_llvm_intrinsics`
 * `thread_local`
 * `unsafe_destructor`

Also updates test for `plugin_registrar` to make it clear that
it is only testing the `plugin_registrar` feature gate.

Cc #22820.

93b642d974 Use a crate attribute to load plugins
#[plugin] #[no_link] extern crate bleh;

becomes a crate attribute

    #![plugin(bleh)]

The feature gate is still required.

It's almost never correct to link a plugin into the resulting library /
executable, because it will bring all of libsyntax and librustc with it.
However if you really want this behavior, you can get it with a separate
`extern crate` item in addition to the `plugin` attribute.

Fixes #21043.

7d8d06f86b Remove deprecated functionality
This removes a large array of deprecated functionality, regardless of how
recently it was deprecated. The purpose of this commit is to clean out the
standard libraries and compiler for the upcoming alpha release.

Some notable compiler changes were to enable warnings for all now-deprecated
command line arguments (previously the deprecated versions were silently
accepted) as well as removing deriving(Zero) entirely (the trait was removed).

The distribution no longer contains the libtime or libregex_macros crates. Both
of these have been deprecated for some time and are available externally.

9d5d97b55d Remove a large amount of deprecated functionality
Spring cleaning is here! In the Fall! This commit removes quite a large amount
of deprecated functionality from the standard libraries. I tried to ensure that
only old deprecated functionality was removed.

This is removing lots and lots of deprecated features, so this is a breaking
change. Please consult the deprecation messages of the deleted code to see how
to migrate code forward if it still needs migration.

ed2aad8b43 Add lint groups; define built-in lint groups bad_style and unused
This adds support for lint groups to the compiler. Lint groups are a way of
grouping a number of lints together under one name. For example, this also
defines a default lint for naming conventions, named `bad_style`. Writing
`#[allow(bad_style)]` is equivalent to writing
`#[allow(non_camel_case_types, non_snake_case, non_uppercase_statics)]`. These
lint groups can also be defined as a compiler plugin using the new
`Registry::register_lint_group` method.

This also adds two built-in lint groups, `bad_style` and `unused`. The contents
of these groups can be seen by running `rustc -W help`.

9434920b24 rustc lexer: regression tests for embedded Idents.
I chose to make two of them because I wanted something close to an
"end-to-end" test (*), but at the same time I wanted a test that
would run on Windows (**).

(*) The run-make test serves as the end-to-end: It constructs an input
that is trying to subvert the hack and we are going to check that it
fails in the attempt).

(**) The compile-fail-fulldeps test serves as a more narrow test that
will be tested on all platforms. It also attempts to subvert the
hack, testing that when you use `new_parser_from_tts`, the resulting
parser does not support reading embedded Idents.

This fix suppresses dead_code warnings from code generated by regex! when
the result of regex! is unused. Correct behavior should be a single
unused variable warning.

Regression tests are included for both `let` and `static` bound regex!
