70f7165cc8 std: Stabilize TypeId and tweak BoxAny
This commit aims to stabilize the `TypeId` abstraction by moving it out of the
`intrinsics` module into the `any` module of the standard library. Specifically,

* `TypeId` is now defined at `std::any::TypeId`
* `TypeId::hash` has been removed in favor of an implementation of `Hash`.

This commit also performs a final pass over the `any` module, confirming the
following:

* `Any::get_type_id` remains unstable as *usage* of the `Any` trait will likely
  never require this, and the `Any` trait does not need to be implemented for
  any other types. As a result, this implementation detail can remain unstable
  until associated statics are implemented.
* `Any::downcast_ref` is now stable
* `Any::downcast_mut` is now stable
* `BoxAny` remains unstable. While a direct impl on `Box<Any>` is allowed today
  it does not allow downcasting of trait objects like `Box<Any + Send>` (those
  returned from `Thread::join`). This is covered by #18737.
* `BoxAny::downcast` is now stable.

1f70acbf4c Improvements to feature staging
This gets rid of the 'experimental' level, removes the non-staged_api
case (i.e. stability levels for out-of-tree crates), and lets the
staged_api attributes use 'unstable' and 'deprecated' lints.

This makes the transition period to the full feature staging design
a bit nicer.

2606f99871 Remove the unneeded Sized bound on TypeId creation
This bound is probably unintentional and is unnecessarily
constricting.

To facilitate this change, it was also necessary to modify
resolve to recurse on and resolve type parameters in extern { }
blocks. This fixes an ICE when using bounds on type parameters
during the declaration of intrinsics.

This also adds tests for TypeId on both Sized and Unsized
tests as well as a test for using type parameters and bounds
in extern { } blocks.

a6b109723a auto merge of #19835 : pythonesque/rust/add-unordered-intrinsic, r=thestinger
This corresponds to the JMM memory model's non-volatile reads and writes to shared variables. It provides fairly weak guarantees, but prevents UB (specifically, you will never see a value that was not written _at some point_ to the provided location). It is not part of the C++ memory model and is only legal to provide to LLVM for loads and stores (not fences, atomicrmw, etc.).

Valid uses of this ordering are things like racy counters where you don't care about the operation actually being atomic, just want to avoid UB. It cannot be used for synchronization without additional memory barriers since unordered loads and stores may be reordered freely by the optimizer (this is the main way it differs from relaxed).

Because it is new to Rust and it provides so few guarantees, for now only the intrinsic is provided--this patch doesn't add it to any of the higher-level atomic wrappers.

23bae856b7 std: Second-pass stabilization of mem
This commit takes a second pass through the `std::mem` module for stabilization.
The only remaining non-stable items in this module were `forget`, `transmute`,
`copy_lifetime`, and `copy_lifetime_mut`.

The `forget` and `transmute` intrinsics themselves were marked `#[stable]` to
propgate into the `core::mem` module so they would be marked stable.

The `copy_lifetime` functions were left `unstable`, but `Sized?` annotations
were added to the parameters to allow more general use with DSTs.

The `size_of_val`, `min_align_of_val`, and `align_of_val` functions would like
to grow `Sized?` bounds, but this is a backwards compatible change that
currently ICEs the compiler, so this change was not made at this time.

Finally, the module itself was declared `#![stable]` in this pass.

096a28607f librustc: Make Copy opt-in.
This change makes the compiler no longer infer whether types (structures
and enumerations) implement the `Copy` trait (and thus are implicitly
copyable). Rather, you must implement `Copy` yourself via `impl Copy for
MyType {}`.

A new warning has been added, `missing_copy_implementations`, to warn
you if a non-generic public type has been added that could have
implemented `Copy` but didn't.

For convenience, you may *temporarily* opt out of this behavior by using
`#![feature(opt_out_copy)]`. Note though that this feature gate will never be
accepted and will be removed by the time that 1.0 is released, so you should
transition your code away from using it.

This breaks code like:

    #[deriving(Show)]
    struct Point2D {
        x: int,
        y: int,
    }

    fn main() {
        let mypoint = Point2D {
            x: 1,
            y: 1,
        };
        let otherpoint = mypoint;
        println!("{}{}", mypoint, otherpoint);
    }

Change this code to:

    #[deriving(Show)]
    struct Point2D {
        x: int,
        y: int,
    }

    impl Copy for Point2D {}

    fn main() {
        let mypoint = Point2D {
            x: 1,
            y: 1,
        };
        let otherpoint = mypoint;
        println!("{}{}", mypoint, otherpoint);
    }

This is the backwards-incompatible part of #13231.

Part of RFC #3.

1d356624a1 collections: Enable IndexMut for some collections
This commit enables implementations of IndexMut for a number of collections,
including Vec, RingBuf, SmallIntMap, TrieMap, TreeMap, and HashMap. At the same
time this deprecates the `get_mut` methods on vectors in favor of using the
indexing notation.

[breaking-change]

1. The internal layout for traits has changed from (vtable, data) to (data, vtable). If you were relying on this in unsafe transmutes, you might get some very weird and apparently unrelated errors. You should not be doing this! Prefer not to do this at all, but if you must, you should use raw::TraitObject rather than hardcoding rustc's internal representation into your code.

2. The minimal type of reference-to-vec-literals (e.g., `&[1, 2, 3]`) is now a fixed size vec (e.g., `&[int, ..3]`) where it used to be an unsized vec (e.g., `&[int]`). If you want the unszied type, you must explicitly give the type (e.g., `let x: &[_] = &[1, 2, 3]`). Note in particular where multiple blocks must have the same type (e.g., if and else clauses, vec elements), the compiler will not coerce to the unsized type without a hint. E.g., `[&[1], &[1, 2]]` used to be a valid expression of type '[&[int]]'. It no longer type checks since the first element now has type `&[int, ..1]` and the second has type &[int, ..2]` which are incompatible.

3. The type of blocks (including functions) must be coercible to the expected type (used to be a subtype). Mostly this makes things more flexible and not less (in particular, in the case of coercing function bodies to the return type). However, in some rare cases, this is less flexible. TBH, I'm not exactly sure of the exact effects. I think the change causes us to resolve inferred type variables slightly earlier which might make us slightly more restrictive. Possibly it only affects blocks with unreachable code. E.g., `if ... { fail!(); "Hello" }` used to type check, it no longer does. The fix is to add a semicolon after the string.
